IT'S BEEN ANOTHER YEAR!

Well, the Trial of Marley has been permanently adjourned.  Martin's defected to Cuba, where he's running a brand new criminal and financial empire.  He was found guilty in absentia, which means life in prison without parole here in Massachusetts.  Well, I don't know if the Castro brothers will extradite him, but the possibility is always open.
Meanwhile, I hope you'll enjoy this wonderful mix of Christmas music from the Philippines.  Please enjoy it!

SURPRISE!

Surprise!  Did ya miss me?  Yes, it's been a year since I posted an entry, but since the last entry, Marvin Marley has been bouncing around the country with many aliases under his belt.  Well, he's gonna get caught again soon.  Just you wait and see.

Meantime, Kumi Takeda was dancing as the Sugar Plum Fairy at a local ballet theater in New Jersey when someone shot at her.  The bullet entered her head, sending her sprawling into the orchestra pit.  They had to rush her to a nearby hospital where the doctors barely saved her life.  Unfortunately, the bullet that was in her head contained strains of hepatitis C virus.  They were unable to stop the spread of the disease, and she ultimately died.  Her funeral is scheduled for Christmas Eve back home in Japan.  She was a Christian convert, so she'll be buried at a Catholic Church there.

There was an uproar over the shooting.  There are no suspects so far, so this is an ongoing investigation.  It seems that this case involving Marvin Marley has taken a sad turn of direction.  And only when they find him will justice finally be done.

Well, here's something very special you can take with you into the holidays!

MARVIN TAKES THE STAND IN HIS OWN DEFENSE!

"All right, Marvin," Marley's attorney began, "tell us why you killed Dave Crachit."

"Very simple," Marvin began, "I sent a Fedex package to Efram Poppagill in London, England demanding that he pay $5,000 in back taxes for his businesses back home and up in Maine."

"And the package didn't get there?"

"No, it didn't!  I told Crachit that the package he sent hadn't gotten there."

"He claimed that he checked on the Fedex web site and found out that the plane had crashed up in Canada."

"Yes, that's right."

"And when he told you about it, what did you say to him?"

"I told him to clear his balls out of there."

"So what made you decide to shoot him?"

"After he left, I looked on my desk and found that there was over $2,000 missing, along with a bag of coal and a can of coal oil."

"During the week prior to the shooting, he'd made several attempts to borrow some of your coal for his coal stove."

"Steal it, I say."

"So why do you think he was taking your coal?"

"I caught him trying to take some lumps of coal that morning and told him to put it back!  I told him if he kept taking my coal, we'd be parting ways."

"Well, you knew that the bastard worked in a cold office.  In fact..."

"Look, buddy!  I try to keep a tight ship on my office.  I told him to use his gloves or his mittens if he wanted to keep warm."

"And it's the incident that set you over the edge."

"That is correct."

"So you think he took your money and your coal."

"That is correct."

"Did you suspect anyone else?"

"Well, I saw his wife Belle running out with the money.  And the coal oil and coal lumps.  I told her to stop where she was, but she got away.  I had to confront Dave and his idiot wife after that!"

"So you decided..."

"I had no other options.  Crachit was bad-mouthing me behind my back!  When I went back in after unsuccessfully pursuing his wife, I found a note saying, 'Mr. Marley, I quit!  Your nephew's offered me a job in his firm!'  I was pissed off!"

"So did you weigh all the options?"

"Yes, and I finally pulled out my pistol and went to the Crachits to confront them on the crime."

"When you knocked on the door, who was it who answered first?"

"Dave's wife."

"And you shot her first?"

"Yes!  After all, she stole the money and the coal."

"How did Dave react?"

"He screamed and ran at me with a steak knife."

"So you shot him then?"

"That's correct!  He schemed with his wife to steal my money on Christmas Eve."

"Did you attempt to harm their children?"

"No, I didn't.  I let them get away."

"No more questions."

"Your witness, Mr. D.A.?"

"So you really hated Cracht," the D.A. began.  "Did you really intend to kill him?"

"The bastard screwed up on a Fedex.  Even though it was proven that the plane had crashed, nevertheless I wanted him to send Poppagill another package the next afternoon.  But when he left me that note, I couldn't take it anymore."

"Really?"

"Really.  I was pissed off that he had quit on me.  So what does he do but make me look like a fool?"

"No further questions, your honor."

"The witness may step down."

"Thank you all."

During a recess break, Marley had to go to the bathroom.  There was a guard to see that he came out once he finished.  But when he failed to come out, the guard kicked down the door and looked inside.  To his chagrin, Marley had escaped again.  The trial had to be recessed until further notice.

WE'RE NOT FINISHED! WE ARE NOT FINISHED!

Thought I was gone, eh?  Well, guess what?  This story goes on!

After Marley disappeared into the night, people thought what had happened.  Well, guess what?  Marley had faked his own death...again!

In fact, he was hiding out near the Village of Beltsville, just outside Attleboro, Massachusetts and just across the state line from Pawtucket, Rhode Island.  Recently, the town fathers there decided to reimpose the blue laws, forcing big retail stores to close on Sundays and holidays(convenience stores, gas stations, pharmacies, restaurants and bars, and the amusement places, among others were exempt from the new ordinance).  It was here that he'd started a new counting house.

Since he'd had trouble with all those people who'd caused him grief, he decided to make it a one man operation without being noticed by the feds.

"Blasted Christmas time again," Marvin snarled to himself.  "It's the same old thing every year; beggars begging for money, people asking me to buy things...and they expect me to pay for all this shit!"

"Merry Christmas, sir," a local police officer said.

"Bah, humbug!" Marvin shouted.

The cop hesitated before walking away.  He thought he'd seen that face before, but he didn't know who it was.

Going under the name of Charlie Craddock, he opened up his house called "Craddock, Inc."  It was a very gloomy one room suite, and nobody else worked there; the other rooms in the building were let out as ethnic groceries or cell phone stores.  As Marvin looked at the ledgers for one of the businesses that owed him money, his phone rang.

"Craddock speaking," Marvin grumbled.

"Craddock, you son of a bitch!" shouted the voice of an Indian woman.  "This is the 12th. checked you bounced in a row.  What have I told you?  One more, and you're outta here!"

"Woman," Marvin said.  "This is my office and..."

"I should remind you," the woman retorted, "that this is my building!  And you don't treat it with respect.  The lawyer will be calling you on Friday at noon, and you'd best have your sorry ass out of there on Monday at the close of business.  Have a nice day, Craddock!"

"Eat shit, bitch!" Marvin said as he slammed the receiver down.  Meanwhile, he looked in the Providence Journal Bulletin at the story of an American Nazi Party member named Dylan Campbell being tried for the murder of a Jewish teenager in Newport.  The prosecutor was seeking the death penalty for Campbell since the murder took place in a Newport Post Office, which is federal property.

"I hope that the bastard burns in Hell," he snarled.

There was a nock at the door.

"Stay out!" Marley shouted.

A young girl dressed in a white blouse and a pleated skirt came in.

"I told you to stay out!"

"Are you Mr. Craddock?"

"Yes, what do you want?"

"St. Philomena High School here in Beltsville is raising money to fund a hospital for small children and their families in Haiti.  I thought you'd mike to make a contribution."

"Get out!"

"Sir..."

"Get out!"

The girl left bursting into tears.  Suddenly, the door was broken down.  She'd reappeared, and this time, she had a gun in her gun.

"Empty out your vault!  And don't try anything!"

Marvin pulled out a pistol and fired at her.  The girl ducked, and the bullet ricocheted into the traffic light, causing it to explode.  Realizing that her victim had a gun on him, she took off down the street and disappeared from view.

"Bank robbers!" Marvin said.  "Devils!"

Later that afternoon, one of the girl's relations burst into the office accompanied by 2 police officers.

"That's him!" the lady said.

"What are you talking about?" Marvin retorted.

"You killed my niece!" she screamed.  "You killed her!"

"Okay, Craddock, you're coming with us!" one of the cops said.  They apprehended him, cuffed him and took him down to the police station.  "You have the right to remain silent.  You have the right to the presence of an attorney."

Meanwhile, the girl in question was watching it all in a nearby pizza joint.  "Good thinking, Aunt Sally," she whispered to herself.

AFTER A YEAR'S DELAY....

It had taken a year to straighten out the details of the Marley trial.  There'd been rumors that he was hiding out in the Grand Cayman Islands.  Other rumors said that he was a soldier of fortune in Cuba.  But now, the trial of Marvin Marley was ready to resume with the defendant in absentia.

"Do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, so help you God?"
"No!"
"You could be held in contempt."
"All right, I'll tell the truth."

"State your name."
"S.H. Hitler."
"What do the initials stand for?"
"Seig Heil!"
"Cut the crap!"
"The witness is dismissed!"
"Fuck you!"

"Call the next witness."
"Hoya!  Hoya!  Docket #2521...."
"No, you dummy!  The nest witness!"
"There are no more witnesses."

"The prosecution rests, your honor."
"The defense rests, your honor."

"That's it!  The case is dismissed.  Court adjourned!"

So that was it!  Marvin Marley was going to get away with the murders of his clerk and his wife.  It's no wonder there's no justice in this world.

The end.

KUMI'S TESTIMONY!

"Do you solemnly swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth?"

 "Yes."

"Ms. Tanaka, we heard that you were raped during your school days in Japan?"

 "Yes."

 "Tell us about it, please."

"When I was 14 years old, Marvin Marley was having a fall out with my father, who was a Sales Manager for the Nitchubitsu electronics firm. One day he was trying to introduce a new High Definition Television, but Mr. Marley shouted during his presentation." "Is that the new TV marketed under the Debutante HD name here in the States?" "Yes. My Father told him to get out, but he punched him in the face. I tried to help him, but he grabbed me and pulled him to his Toyota, pushed me into the back seat and sped off."

"How long were you in there?"

"About 5 hours. He drove through Tokyo and then out into the suburbs." "Where did he take you?" "Somewhere near Toyota City."

"What did he do to you?"

"He pulled me out and dragged me into a garage. There he tied me up and raped me for over 3 hours.  And while he did so, he was taking beastly photos of me.  These were photos he'd later upload to all his friends on the internet.  Anyway, my Father found us there and beat the crap outta him. He then untied me and took me to the hospital."

"Do you see the suspect?"

 "Yes."

And Kumi pointed her finger at the defendant.

"You bitch, I'll kill you!" Marvin shouted as he leaped up off the table and right towards her. She barely managed to escape, causing Marvin to hit the testimony bench in the jaw. He collapsed on the floor while the security guards picked him up and carried him out to a stretcher. "This trial is in recess," the judge shouted as he banged his gavel repeatedly.

For two days, Marvin Marley struggled to stay alive. He went into a coma at the end of the third day and died on Saturday night. So Marley had escaped Earthly justice, but he would have to stand before God and face his judgment. And there would be no escaping it there. At the funeral, the registry was signed by the clerk and the undertaker. Well, you can say that Marvin Marley was as dead as a doornail.

 THE END? NOT!!

You see...Marvin Marley had faked his own death...again! You see, Marvin had substituted a mannequin the first night after he'd been brought in. And when it was discovered that he was still alive, the judge was furious! Because 2 days later, he ruled that the trial was going on without the defendant....again! What do you know about that?

THE FIRST WITNESS IS CALLED!!

8 months had passed, and now Marvin Marley's trial was set to resume.

There was just one problem. He'd escaped again the previous night. There had been a fire in the jail where Marvin was awaiting his trial. In the confusion of all the fire apparatus and rioting in the jail, Marley had sneaked out and stolen a police car. He took it to a nearby railroad track where he sneaked onto a train headed for New York City.

He was now miles away from the courthouse as the day's business began.

"Ladies and gentlemen of the jury," the prosecutor began, "it's a shame that the defendant, Marvin Marley, is on the run from the law. But I've got compelling evidence that will show you the cruel intentions behind this crime.

"Someone in the Marley family has spoken up that Marvin raped her while she was in high school in Japan. And it's with her that I'll start the case.

"The prosecution calls Kumi Tanaka Marley to the stand."

LET'S GIVE IT ANOTHER TRY!

Okay, let's give it another try. I was gonna add some Christmas music to this blog a while back, but it didn't work out. So we're gonna try it again. Wish me luck!

By the way, this was recorded off a radio station in Illinois!

A SHOCKING ESCAPE!

As the van that was bearing Marvin Marley back to the Charles Street Jail was crossing onto Harrison Avenue, a motorcycle hit it head on. The cyclist was pitched up into the air and killed when he hit the ground. The van ended up flipping over several times before stopping in the middle of a train track.
Once again, Marvin worked his chains off and escaped, leaving the helpless van driver and the officer responsible for him critically injured and unconscious. Suddenly, a freight train collided into the disabled van. As a result, the van flipped over several more times before falling into the lake near the railroad station. Both men drowned in the below freezing water.
Marvin saw a nearby Amtrak Acela train pulling out of South Station, but he decided against trying to hope on it, since it was going too fast. He ran back to the South Station platform and got on a local commuter rail train going to Providence. (Of course, he didn't have a ticket, so he decided to hide in the area between the engine room and one of the passenger cars.)

60 minutes later, Marley was in Rhode Island's capital, looking for a place to eat. On the way to the river area, he met a homeless man standing outside a Japanese grocery store.
"Spare a little change for the homeless?" he asked him.
"Get a job, ya bum!" Marley shouted. The homeless man kicked him in the face, sending him sprawling through the glass. Marvin moaned in paid. Suddenly, he felt his arms being pulled behind his back and cuffs being snapped on him.
To his shock, the homeless man was really a police officer.
"Okay, Marley!" he said. "I heard about your escape from Charles Street Jail. Once we get you back there, you're gonna stay there until you go to trial!"

After 2 hours on the road, Marvin Marley was back in the Charles Street Jail. This time, he was in solitary confinement. Nearby, two drug dealers who were waiting trial on drug smuggling charges looked at their new neighbor.
"Hey, there's that little white trash who killed his clerk!" one of them said as the cops were shoving Marley into his cell. "Take care of him, man!"

And so it came to pass that Marley's trial date was set for November 1st. And the people in the Charles Street Jail would do their best to keep him locked up. Unfortunately, they hadn't counted on the many ways that Marley had escaped. And on the night before his trial was to begin a few months later, that's what would happen...

FEZZIWIG'S INTERVIEW.

"Don't lie to me, Marvin," Fezziwig said to Marvin Marley. "Everybody knows you tied up Kumi Tanaka and raped her on her first day in the USA. She wanted to take out a loan for a new house she'd bought down the street..."
"She was trying to rob me out of $5,000!" Marvin shouted.
"Kumi only wanted to get a loan..."
"I don't lend money to anybody from the Pacific Rim!"
"You are such a bigot!"
"Shut the fuck up, Fezz! Now let's talk about my being robbed by my late clerk...."
"Here we go again!"

THREE DAYS LATER....

"Hoya, hoya!" the man in black pantaloons shouted. "Docket #852109-3223123! People vs. Marvin Marley! Charges-multiple counts of capital murder, evasion of authority, and sexual assault and rape."
"Well," the judge said, "here we go again. How do you plead?"
"Not guilty, you honor," Marvin snarled.
"I've already put together a defense," his lawyer said. "But I'll wait until the trial begins."
"People on bail?"
"People request remand, your honor," the D.A. shouted.
"It is so ordered."

It happened that the D.A. was the brother of Kumi Tanaka Marley. He wanted to see his sister's wrong righted.

"Next case!"
"Hoya, hoya!"
"Knock it off!"

CHRISTMAS EVE!

Well, here he was on Christmas Eve! Marvin Marley was walking through a small town in Central Ontario, Canada, which shall remain nameless. All I can say that it was just outside the Greater Toronto Area(which I have never visited myself).
"Merry Christmas, sir," said someone who passed him by.
"Bah! Humbug!" Marvin shouted.
"You don't mean that, do you?" the man said.
"You better believe it, jerk!" Marvin snarled as he walked away. He came across a Salvation Army bell ringer who asked him, "Will you help us out?"
"No!" Marvin shouted. And he walked down the street towards a group of singers performing "Deck The Halls!"
"Shut up!" Marvin screamed. "And stop that wretched singing!"
Suddenly, one of the ladies in the choir kicked him right in the groin. The force of the kick caused him to collapse. Just then, 2 RCMP officers picked him up.
"Okay, buddy!" the first one said. "Let's go! You're coming with us!"

Marvin was back inside a jail(this time in the aforementioned town) when the second cop came and greeted him, "Merry Christmas, Mr. Marley!"
"Bah! Humbug!"
"Bah humbug yourself!" the officer said, slapping him in the face. "Well, I heard about what you did to one of your clerks and his family."
"He was stealing money from my coffers at the office," Marvin shouted stubbornly.
"That's no excuse!"
"How'd you guys find out about me?"
"You were on that plane that crashed, weren't you?" the Mountie said.
"Yes," Marvin admitted. "I was."
"Well," the Mountie said, "you're the only survivor..."
"I don't want to hear no more caca!"
"You are caca! And I hope your bag's packed, because you're going back to Boston on the next plane!"

2 hours later, Marley was on a private plane rented by the Canadian government and headed on his way to Boston. When he arrived at Logan Airport on Christmas morning at 3 a.m., he was met by a group of people who pelted him with everything from tomatoes to rocks. He suffered injury in the melee and had to be rushed to the hospital.

Meanwhile, at a house on Boston's beautiful North Shore(which can't hold a candle to the South Shore, since we've got the best towns and attractions)...

"I'm not going to represent my Uncle at this trial!" Fred Marley, his nephew, said to his wife Kumi, who was dressed in a black tutu preparing for her performance in "Swan Lake" that evening at Harvard University.
"He is your Uncle, Fred," Kumi reminded him. "After all..."
"I know," Fred shrugged. "But still what he did to Crachit's family was inexcusable."
"Still," Kumi said, "you can find something to defend him on."
Fred thought about this, then said, "You're right. He was delusioned over what his clerk did-or didn't do-that Christmas. And of course, there's his father's beating him when he was young."
"The same man that assaulted me when I was in High School back home in Japan," Kumi reminded him. "He was on a business trip..."
"You're kidding!" Fred said.
"I've been afraid to tell you this, Fred," Kumi said gravely. "But here goes..."

"Mr. Marley," Officer Paul Kelly said to Fred as he arrived at the Charles Street Jail to talk with his uncle. "Your services won't be needed for your Uncle."
"What are you talking about?' Fred said.
"Marvin called his lawyer Mr. Johnny Fezziwig when he got in this morning."
"What? The son of Dave Fezziwig, the man Scrooge was apprenticed under?"
"Yes. He's talking to him right now."
Fred was so mad that he stormed out of the jail house. Later, when he told the news to his wife, Kumi said, "That Fezziwig is gonna take a fall!"
"What do you think we should do?"
"Nothing-for now. Let's let this game run its course before we do anything about it."

To be continued.....
